Pressure loss calculation tool
This tool is used for the approximate pressure loss calculation of ventilation ducts (round, square) and selected fittings (e.g. bends, tees). It can also be used to take into account any fittings that do not split the air flow, as long as their pressure loss coefficient is known. The result is the pressure loss of the respective individual component (pipe section, fitting, filter). In order to calculate the total pressure loss for the entire duct network, the pressure losses output in the tool must be added up separately and, if used, further pressure losses of components such as silencers, valves or air outlets must be added.
Caution: The tool is not intended for the full representation of duct networks. It can rather be used to calculate the pressure losses of the individual network segments, which should then be summed up separately for each relevant branch in order to obtain the maximum pressure loss of the duct network. The input of the ductwork should be done sequentially (starting from the source up to the rooms) in order to be able to assign the end velocity of a fitting for the next pipe segment. For branched duct networks, the branch with the highest pressure loss is decisive.
